Clarification Statement

In the early hours of Sunday, May 4, a fire affected the exterior area of the Químicas Europea de Resinas (Euroresin) plant, which is adjacent to the Kupsa Coatings facilities in Oyón (Álava).

At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown.

At the time of the incident, the plant was closed and no staff were present. There have been no personal injuries, and materially, the fire did not enter the Euroresin buildings. It affected only equipment, tanks, and containers located outside. The extent of the damage will be assessed by Euroresin’s management.

We are issuing this statement because some of the information published in the media is inaccurate and suggests the fire occurred at a varnish manufacturing plant, which is incorrect.

Kupsa’s facilities have not suffered any damage as a result of this incident, and the fire has had no impact on our company other than the confusion caused by the proximity of the two companies' premises.

Therefore, we would like to reiterate that Kupsa Coatings will continue operating as usual from Monday onwards, while fully supporting our colleagues at Euroresin in overcoming the challenges resulting from this event as swiftly as possible.
